The Page Chapter of the Northern Arizona Building Association raised $1,450 from its holiday party in large part from donations from 21 business donors.
Tourism
The Page Tourism and Events Board approved $5,000 in advertising revenues for this year's upcoming 2003 Octoberfest. The two-day festival attracts motorcylce enthusiasts from around the state and West and is considered a good money making event for the city but the Board told MMA that this event needs to eventually become a financially self-sustaining event.
The Page Tourism and Events Board revised their by-laws and changed the name to the Page-Lake Powell Tourism Bureau and announced a shift in emphasis away from supporting tourism events and more towards spending money towards advertisement and promotion.
Grants For the Year 2002
Another Way receives a $5,000 grant from the Arizona Community Foundation for the purchase of computer equipment for PowerPoint presentations and to develop a video about Another Way services and the Family Bargain Center. Grant objectives include: What is Domestic Violence and How Does It Impact the Community?, Communication and Counseling Victims, and Making Change Offender Treatment.
